Thai Red Cross
Yesterday we went to visit the Thai Red Cross Children's Home. The social workers and nurses were very happy to see the kids again. Lots of lovely stories about when the kids were babies. Everyone is amazed at how tall Josh is. Josh played piano. He also sang for them. All the little kids sat and listened beautifully then they clapped politely. After that Josh was mobbed like a rock star. They all wanted to play with him and have their photo taken with him. One ten year old girl wouldn't leave him alone. The little girl in orange 2nd from the right. They were all very cute but unfortunately many of them will never have families due to health issues.
Thai Addictions
I have an addiction that began a few years ago. I have even got my children addicted. Shame on me! No it's not what you think. My secret addiction is Thai soapies. I love them! They are full of very white looking, rich middle class Thais who all live in Bangkok mansions with heaps of servants. The story lines are hard to follow but always involve lots of angry scenes, tense 'danger music' and the obligatory kung fu fighting. Even the grannies kick butt. Back when I first started watching I used to wish they had sub tittles but it's much more fun making up the story as you go. Josh and I were watching a bizarre episode the other day that involved a group of young Thais being held hostage in a coffee factory. The commercials in between are just as funny. They all have little animated characters talking and dancing (like the one above).

Hello all,
Took Sky Train to Chatachuck Markets today. Full on crowds everywhere. Hot as hell everywhere but once you got into the hallways it was unbearable. Kilometre after km of tat. Knock of brands of everything + all sorts of weird stuff. If it exists on this planet you will find it at the Chatachuck markets. It is a HUGE place. Last time we got totally lost and enede up in the pet section. As well as the usual dogs and cats you can buy scorpiaons, shraks and baby crocodiles, no I'm not kidding.

Arriving in Bangkok
Hey, fun trip from Adelaide to Bangkok. Plane is full of Adelaide United guys. Apart from Aurelio Vidmar I don't know anyone. Got to Singapore airport. Lovely orchid gardens dotted around. GIGANTIC koi. Josh and Maggie loved them.. Bangkok this morning so interesting. Had breakfast in a cafe and protest in progress going past on street. The 'Red Shirt' protesters of ousted ex prime minister Taxin Shinowatra. Lots of noise, colour and commotion. No sweat, all safe no blood on streets like last week but felt like Harry in Quiet American, breakfast at Intercontinental as riots in Saigon. History in making!
